Kent – BRE 365 Soakaway & Percolation Testing
Clear Environmental completed BRE 365 soakaway testing and percolation testing to Building Regulations Part H for a residential development in Kent. The assessment confirmed infiltration characteristics to inform both surface water and foul drainage design.
Overview
Clear Environmental was instructed to undertake BRE 365 soakaway testing and percolation testing to Building Regulations standards at a residential development site in Kent. The purpose of the assessment was to confirm the suitability of infiltration drainage solutions and to provide design data for both sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and foul drainage soakaways.
Scope
- Carry out BRE 365 soakaway testing to determine infiltration rates for surface water drainage design.
- Undertake percolation testing in line with Building Regulations Part H to assess suitability of foul drainage soakaways.
- Record groundwater levels, soil permeability, and infiltration performance.
- Provide clear, factual test results and interpretation for integration into drainage design.
Outcome
Testing was successfully completed in accordance with BRE 365 and Building Regulations standards, confirming infiltration characteristics of the underlying soils. A factual report was issued the next working day, providing the design team with robust data to the drainage strategy.
