BRE 365 Soakaway Testing - Kent
Clear Environmental completed same-day BRE 365 soakaway testing in Kent to support a residential development. Rapid results informed SuDS design and strengthened the planning submission.
Overview
Clear Environmental was commissioned to undertake BRE 365 infiltration testing to assess the feasibility of a soakaway drainage solution for a proposed residential development in Kent. The testing formed part of the supporting documentation for the site’s drainage strategy, in line with planning requirements.
Scope
- Determine the underlying ground conditions and groundwater regime.
- Determine the infiltration potential of underlying soils.
- Provide BRE 365-compliant infiltration rates to inform sustainable drainage design.
- Support the site-specific surface water drainage strategy for planning submission.
Outcome
We excavated trial pits at proposed soakaway locations and carried out infiltration testing in accordance with BRE Digest 365 methodology. Results were analysed and delivered on the same day, providing rapid, clear reporting that enabled the project’s civil engineers to finalise their drainage design and SuDS documentation for the planning application without delay.
